Chapitre. 24: Where the Smile Went

A shocked Syaoran discovers that Sakura has fallen asleep, having been tricked by Mokona into thinking that something serious had happened. Fai warns Syaoran that there will be more troubles ahead and it won't help to dwell on them. It's better to smile, he mentions.

Syaoran is thrust into a flashback. A young Sakura brings Syaoran to the top of a tower to watch a flock of birds fly by. Syaoran smiles, which sends Sakura into a fit of joy.

When Sakura awakens, she dashes towards the lake, thinking that Syaoran is still in it. Syaoran pulls her back and assures her that he's right there. Fai tells Sakura that the road ahead will be difficult but they can make it enjoyable. Sakura humbly offers all that she has to help. What she says reminds Syaoran of Sakura's younger self, and he notices that her personality has not changed.

Syaoran explains that there is a miniature city in the lake. Mokona realizes that the strong power he had been sensing came from the fish; hence, no feather was in the world. Kurogane regards the world as a waste of time, while Syaoran marvels at seeing something new. He thinks back to Sakura's warm smile and wishes to always see her smile.
